Many of you probably know my rock credo (paraphrased from Bud)…
I don’t want any poetry in my rock.
No politics either.
…but I often made an exception for Jim Carroll, in spite of his poetic inclinations.
His lyrics and jump hook often went over my head, but in the vertically-challenged world of rock, he was a breath of thin air.
